bedale imagesBedale station is located just five minutes’ walk from the market place. Bedale has a good range of shops and attractions together with the historic Church of St Gregory and the parkland around Bedale Hall.

Station facilities

Tickets
At present Bedale Station is unstaffed.  To travel, just board the train and purchase your ticket from our on-train staff.

Bus links
Local bus services to villages around Bedale and to Masham operate from Bedale Market Place.

Toilets
There are no public toilets at the station.  The nearest toilets are just off the Market Place. To reach these leave the station and walk across the bridge towards the town centre.  The toilets are located at the top of the car park on the right.

Parking
There is no parking at the station but there are two free public car parks nearby.  These are located between the station and the town centre just over the river bridge.  The car parks are well signposted from the main road.

Things to do

Shops, cafés and public houses
Bedale Market Place offers a range of shops, cafés and public houses in an historic setting.  The market place is about five minutes’ walk from the station.  To reach it leave the station and turn left and cross the bridge and follow the road into the market place.

Attractions
Bedale has a number of attractions to visit as part of your day out on the train.

Big Sheep & Little Cow Farm Attraction
An interactive farm visitor centre located next to the station.

The Leech House
Located next to the river bridge, just a short walk from the station. This was originally used for storing leeches required for medical use.

St Gregory's Church
Dominating the High Street at the end of the market place. On certain days it is possible to climb to the top of the tower.

Bedale Hall Park
Adventure playground for children and great for short walks in the park.

Did you know?

Bedale station has seen many royal visitors as it has been used for overnight stops for the royal train many times.  Both the Queen and the late Queen Mother have visited.

Bedale signal box is a listed building and is the best preserved box on the line.
